On Election Day 2006 (11/7/2006) the voters of Beaver County, PA sent a major shock wave throughout the entire democratized world. No longer were they willing to blindly reinstate an incumbent legislator who refused to hold himself accountable to his constituents.

The unofficial numbers as of the morning of 11/8/2006 (Source: Commonwealth of PA - Elections Information):

• 14th Legislative District:
  Candidate...............Votes.....Percent
  VEON, MIKE (DEM)........8,992.....46.1%
  MARSHALL, JIM (REP).....10,511....53.9%

This 10,511-person strong tidal wave has finally supplied a reason for that deer-in-the-headlights look. Enjoy your pension, Mike....
